Sydney of Freedom

Hey and welcome back, everyone !
As promised earlier, today let's leave the Europe and go somewhere else, to completely other part of world ! We hope you, guys, are excited as we are, because we are travelling to Sydney !! This vibrant city is the state capital of New South Wales in Australia and it has the biggest population in the whole Australia and Oceania. Sydney is well known not only for its popular places of interest, like Sydney Opera House, Harbour Bridge or stunning beaches, but for its lively and free-spirited people. They just don't care what other people think. They do and wear whatever they like and as a tourist you can relax and feel free to do the same as long as it doesn't interfere with other's right to enjoy themselves too.
Actually, Sydney is considered one of the most expensive cities in the world, so it was quite difficult to plan the trip for our savers, but anything is possible ! So let's not waste anymore time and let's see what Sydney can offer for us !
As usually we start our trip planning from the transportation. For our savers the best transportation mean in Sydney is buses. Buses will get you from Sydney Airport to your hotel, plus it easily will take you to any place for sightseeing. One ticket for one ride costs 3 Australian dollars, so if you are going to move around the city mainly by buses, we recommend you to buy the Opal card, which costs 15 AUD for one day. But there is another option. City also has shuttle buses, which have stops at the most popular places of attractions. Good news are that they are totally free of charge and go every 10 minutes. Now let's move on to the accommodation. Well the most cheapest way is to stay at the hostels in shared rooms, for example, one bed in shared room for 10 people costs from 10 AUD for night. Of course, this choice is not for everyone, then our savers can choose for instance double room with shared bathroom (prices start from 45 AUD ) or a standard double room with private bathroom (prices start from 70 AUD). The best website for search of hostels is booking.com. Moreover, it is very important to mention, that while choosing accommodation, you would better avoid neighborhood of King Cross, which is said to be unsafe and dirty in all its meanings...
Don't think that we forgot our spenders, with the city expensive like this, there are lots of ways for monetary expression, our dear spenders ! For transportation from airport to the hotel we offer you to rent a prestigious Ferrari, which can cost you from 3000 AUD per day (visit: http://www.ultimaterentals.com.au/our-fleet/ferrari-458-italia). Sydney is a place, which can provide incredible penthouses in 100th floor or even higher, with the stunning view to the whole city. Prices of penthouses start from 2150 AUD for night (visit: http://www.fivestaralliance.com/luxury-hotels/767/sydney).

Food is at the heart of everything we do ! Let's come clean and confess that all of us are desperate for places with great and delicious meals. And our Sydney certainly has these wonderful places. For savers, there is plenty of budget restaurants, which can offer amazing dishes and drinks in price range of 10-25 AUD. Firstly, we advice you to visit Harry's Cafe de Wheels. Here you will be able to choose from lots of options on their menu and if you're a seafood lover, you should definitely try out the seafood pie with prawns, scallops, salmon and white sauce ! Then, if you heading to the city centre for a drink, you should check out the Norfolk pub. This pub has an especially wide variety of beers. And for those, who are obsessed with burgers, the Chur should be number one cafe on their list. Oh, and they also have incredibly tasty ice cream milkshakes ! Please check the link for even more great places to eat (visit: http://www.theguardian.com/travel/2014/jan/15/top-10-budget-restaurants-sydney-australia).

The top luxury restaurants in Sydney is Aria, Rockpool, Tetsuya's and Quay. All of these places offer memorable and appetizing dinner experiences. Spenders, who adore steaks, should visit Prime Steak restaurant, where they can find the most expensive steak in Sydney, which costs 300 AUD. Don't miss the opportunity to try out the golden martini in Bar de The. The inside of the glass is coated with three palm-sized sheets of 24-carat gold before Ciroc vodka and Lillet are poured in. This awesome golden martini's price is 100 AUD.
A taste for the finer things: The $100 gold-leaf martini.
You can't fully appreciate the beauty of Sydney, unless you visited at least the main attractions, like Sydney Opera House, Sydney Harbour Bridge, the Rocks, Circular Quay, Queen Victoria Building, Sydney Tower, St Mary's Cathedral, Taronga Zoo and so on (visit: http://www.planetware.com/tourist-attractions-/sydney-aus-nsw-s.htm). Admission fees to most of these places  are free of charge, some of them costs from 18 till 44 AUD. So both savers and spenders can choose which places to visit. For our savers, we can also offer to go to marvelous beaches and parks (visit: http://www.tripadvisor.com/Travel-g255060-c140177/Sydney:Australia:Secret.Parks.And.Beaches.html), you will be amazed by the nature of Sydney !
Savers will also have a splendid time, lots of fun and the crazy night of dancing in Sydney's nightclubs, where average fees are 25 AUD.
On the other hand, our spenders can book an incredible dinner cruise on Sydney Harbour, where you'll be carried away by the views worth of millions. The prices for these cruises are about 200 AUD. Other offer with stunning views for spenders is Harbour Bridge climbing, which with personal instructor costs around 340 AUD.
And let's finish our trip to Sydney with a bang ! The one event, which nor savers, nor spenders shouldn't miss if they in Sydney on March and want to experience the real freedom of the city, is Mardi Gras - pride parade and festival of lesbians, gays, bisexuals and transgenders. The whole ceremony includes a variety of events such as Mardi Gras parade and Party, Bondio Beach Drag Races, Harbour Party, the academic discussion panel "Queer Thinking", Mardi Gras Film Festival and Fair Day. The parade is free of charge, whereas other events may have admission fees.

Well Sydney is undoubtedly the city, which every traveller should visit. We can guarantee that once you visited it, you will want to comeback again and again. This city is just gonna steal your heart !

Always yours,

“Notebook of Travellers”
