As you see, one of our last posts were about one of America’s city Miami. Now, we move a little bit
further from America to the beautiful Canada. This post will be about one of
the greenest city that is surrounded by water on three sides! That is amazingly
beautiful city - VANCOUVER! As you noticed it is a harbour city and a magnet
for tourists who want to see sea animals as orca whales and even more! On land
you will find a city with beautiful beaches and rugged mountains and maaany
parks in between. For
example, Stanley Park is larger than famous Central Park in NY and includes
totems, Lost Lagoonm Vancouver Aquarium and etc. There are also many
interesting places to see as Robson Street - famous shopping destination, large
Chinatown, historic Yaletown with many restaurants, bars and nightclubs. So,
let’s start our trip to Vancouver!
Firstly, for
accommodation we could suggest you some good options depending on the price
which you can spend. For those travellers who want to spend less money, we
suggest to look for hostels or rent vacation at someone house. The room usually
is really cosy and price for it varies from $40. If you prefer to live at a
hostel their prices start from $20 per night. There are few economic class
hostels that we could suggest to visit: Cambie Hostel Gastown, Cambie Hostel -
Seymour, C&N Backpackers - 927 Main. For those travellers who have
unlimited budget for accommodation we suggesting best hotels which prices vary
from $300 to $400 per night. These hotels are: Wedgewood Hotel & Spa, Fairmont
Pacific Rim, Opus Hotel, Shangri - La Hotel, Rosewood Hotel Georgia, Loden
Hotel.
Now, the
most important question is what places to see in Vancouver? As we mentioned at
the beginning you should visit Vancouver’s oldest and largest park - Stanley Park. This park is surrounded
by the sea at three sides. Also, you should see Vancouver Aquarium famous underwater tourist attraction. About 9000
square meters, thousands of sea animals as giant fish of Amazon , sharks,
dolphins or whales. Tickets prices are $15 for children, $20 for students and
seniors, $29 for adults.
From Stanley
park, you can walk or cycle along the Seawall, a 22 kilometer path following Vancouver’s waterfront. Along this path
and you’ll pass scenic English Bay and Granville Island, which is known for its
Public Market, art galleries and studios. Stop at the University to visit the Museum of Anthropology, an architectural masterpiece which features indigenous art from around the world. Price for adults is $16.75, for children $14.50 Vancouver's best museum is studded with spectacular First Nations totem poles and incredible carvings - but it's also teeming with artefacts from cultures around the world, from European ceramics to Cantonese opera costumes. See Native American artwork and totem poles, ride the miniature train through the coastal rainforest or visit lakes and beaches.
You should also visit Capilano Suspension Bridge Park and Grouse Mountain. That is this park which you see at picture above. Here a Skyride Gondola takes you 1,100 meters above forested mountains for a panoramic view of the city. Skyride prices for adult/child $39.95/13.95. If you like skiing and snow sports you can choose from traditional snow activities, including skiing, snowborading and snowshoeeing. There are many ski runs from easy to difficult only for professionals. Skiing prices in winter season for adult is $58, for child is $25. Grouse offers 26 ski and snowboard runs with 14 night runs. The Skyride is one of the thing you can do in Vancouver anytime of the year. While the city has a warmer climate than much of Canada, it’s still a great destination for snow sports.
Tourists with limited budget can visit parks (there are about 200 beautiful parks), Chinatown, Yaletown and all some of attractions mentioned above. Travellers with unlimited budget can try seaplane flight to Victoria and whale-watching cruise. It is about 35 minutes flight by seaplane and search for Orcas on a whale watching cruise. The price of this cruise starts from $350. There are many interesting and beautiful places to see in Vancouver! You can choose those activities and places that you would like the most!
