The spirit of Rome

Hey, everyone !

We hope You liked our previous posts about the most fascinating cities of Europe. Seems like we are having a week of Europe, but stay tuned, stories from other continents are coming soon ! However, today it would be a crime not to tell you about the city full of ancient architecture, delicious traditional dishes and friendly people. Yes, you guess it right, we are talking about Rome ! Rome is a capital city of Italy, located in Lazio region on a peninsula extending from soutthern Europe into the Mediterranean Sea.

So let's start our journey ! First of all, Rome has two airports, from which you can easily reach the city centre. The ones who want to save some money, there are lots of transportation options ( visit: https://www.rometoolkit.com/airport/fiumicino_airport_bus.htm). But the cheapest is to catch a bus from a bus stop right next to airports, a ticket costs around 4 euros. If you are landing in Fiumicino airport, there is a possibility of metro, where standard ticket of 100 minutes costs  1.50 euros. On the other hand, our spenders can rent a luxury car like Mercedes S class with private driver for price starting from 150 euros. Driver will get you straight to the hotel. For exclusive experience, we recommend for spenders to stay in Grand Hotel de la Minerve, Palazzzo Montemartini, Hotel Lord Byron or Portrait Suites. The last hotel offers extremely luxury suites with private terraces with gorgeous panoramic view. The price for one night in this suite is 2500 euros.

Portrait Suites
For our savers, Rome can offer lots of cheap but comfy guest houses or hostels, which prices are from 10 euros (visit: http://www.budgetplaces.com/rome/). By the way, it is important to mention, that all transportation types will drop off the savers in Termini Station. But do not worry, Rome is not a big city and you can reach any accommodation place by foot. This will provide you a chance to see even more of wonderful Rome.
The next thing to consider for travellers in Rome is dining out places. Savers for low prices can try out very tasty pizzas, spaghetti and home wine (visit: http://www.ladyironchef.com/2014/03/rome-top-10-budget-restaurants/), while spenders can check out less common traditional Italian dishes in fancy outdoor restaurants (visit: http://www.10best.com/destinations/italy/rome/restaurants/outdoor-dining/).
Finally, let's talk about leisure activities and sightseeing in Rome. To visit the most famous attractions is definitely a "must" thing to do ! The famous places include Colosseum, Roman Forum, Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, Piazza Navona, Palatine Hill, Piazza Venezia, Circus Maximus. Savers will be able to buy tickets next to entrance to the places, where prices vary from 5 till 10 euros. Some of the attractions like Trevi Fountain and Piazzas is free of charge ! For the spenders we offer to book the attractions' packages with tour guides and transportation. You can even buy night tours and enjoy Rome's night-timing magic (visit: https://www.rometoolkit.com/tours/rome_by_night.htm) ! Prices for these packages vary quite substantially - from 45 till 1000 euros.
We also want to offer our readers more unique experiences. For instance, our spenders can contact a well-known Italian painter Francesco Toraldo (visit: http://www.artlondon.com/artist/Francesco-Toraldo/), who for the amount of around 5000 euros will paint their portraits. Francesco is famous for his expressionistic paintings. Furthermore, both savers and spenders can visit National Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art, where ticket costs 8 euros. Believe us, it is a very little price for what you are going to see and experience there. Trust us, we have been there and we can strongly state that all art lovers will be impressed.
If you want to explore the Rome in style, you should definitely make a reservation for hairstyle at Sergio Valente's Hair Studio (visit: http://www.sergiovalente.it/). This hairdresser's clients include worldwide famous models, singers and actors, so you won't be disappointed with his work.  Prices start from 250 euros.
Our dear savers, who aren't afraid of the cold, just like us, can visit Ice club, a place where everything is made from ice ! The price of entrance is 10 euros, plus you get a first drink for free. Overall, it is a great place to go to with your friends.

A short article is not enough to describe everything that the Rome can offer, but this is our main recommendations and suggestions for making your trip to this beautiful city as wonderful as possible during such a short time.

Always yours,
''Notebook of Travellers''
