1. Botswana
Botswana, a landlocked country in southern Africa. Botswana has "some of the greatest wildlife spectacles on Earth," from elephants and antelopes, to big cats and African wild dogs. Also recommended are the Okavango Delta and Kalahari Desert, both "iconic African landscapes and vast stretches of wilderness."
2. Japan - an island country in East Asia, located in the Pacific Ocean. Country with high-rise-filled cities, imperial palaces, mountainous national parks and thousands of shrines and temples.
3. USA - a country of 50 states covering a vast swath of North America.
4. Palau - an archipelago of more than 500 islands, part of the Micronesia region in the western Pacific Ocean, well known for its scuba-diving and snorkeling sites.
5. Latvia - a country on the Baltic Sea between Lithuania and Estonia known for its strong national identity, diverse culture, modern cities and landscapes ranging from wide beaches to dense, sprawling forests.
6. Australia - a country, and continent, surrounded by the Indian and Pacific oceans. Its major cities – Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide – are coastal, but its capital, Canberra, is inland and nicknamed the "Bush Capital."
7. Poland - an eastern European country on the Baltic Sea known for its medieval architecture, Jewish heritage and hearty cuisine.
8. Uruguay - a South American country known for its verdant interior and beach-lined coast.
9. Greenland - a massive island and autonomous Danish territory between the North Atlantic and Arctic oceans, is about 80% covered in ice.
10. Fiji - a country in the South Pacific, is an archipelago of more than 300 islands. It's famed for its rugged landscape of blue lagoons and palm-lined beaches, and eco-activities from mountain climbing and surfing to soft-coral diving and zip-lining.
